An historic landmark on the Edgartown waterfront on the island of Martha’s Vineyard, Old Sculpin Gallery is a visual arts center operated by Martha's Vineyard Art Association, a non-profit organization.

• It is primarily a fine art gallery where artists of the Martha’s Vineyard Art Association show their work. These are "island artists" showing "island scenes". See Gallery Artists.
• It is also an art school for children and adults. See Courses & Workshops.
• It maintains a permanent collection of important and historical Martha's Vineyard paintings. See Permanent Collection.
• It is a museum and an historic property. See History.
• There are shows by member artists hung each week with openings on Sunday evenings and other activities during the summer. See Exhibition Calendar.

“The mission of the MVAA is to preserve and enhance the cultural life of the Vineyard community by providing quality art education, annual scholarship awards, exhibition opportunities for artists in the historic Old Sculpin Gallery, and curating our permanent collection of island art.”

gallery hours:

open the weekends of Memorial Day and Columbus Day 10am - 6pm

in season (June through October): open daily 9am - 9pm

New work on view starting every Saturday morning, receptions every Sunday 5-7pm

The Old Sculpin Gallery is owned, maintained, and managed by the Martha’s Vineyard Art Association, Inc., a non-profit organization that derives its support from private patrons, artist donations, gallery rentals, and tax-deductible contributions from patrons and friends of the arts. Artists are invited to become active members of the Association and to submit examples of their work to the Exhibition Jury. Next call for art will be in 2012.
